The Brief

  • Understand people's exercise routine during COVID Pandemic and find the gaps.

  • Help individuals to bring work and health balance to their life.

  • Help individuals to get connected to other like-minded people and exercise together.

The Problem

Individuals who are demotivated about doing exercise alone and want to get connected with like-minded people but don't know how to find them.

The Process Summary

The first step of the design process involved user interviews, survey and desktop research to understand users behaviour and how competitors.

I synthesised the insights and created an affinity and empathy map, persona and journey map. After completion of workshop session, I developed my design with the best ideas and solutions.

I performed usability tests and iterations based on feedbacks.

The Solution

  • A mobile app where you can find like-minded people near you on an interactive map.

  • Enable filtering and searching by gender, age, distance and interest.

  • Sending message and chat with other users to confirm the date and location.

Survey

I conducted an online survey and received 80 responses.

  • 63.7% were women age of 25-40

  • 55%  exercise frequently

  • 42.9% want to exercise with a workout buddy

  • 47.7% exercise at home

Affinity Map

I had taken all the important insights from interviews and built an affinity Map.

Persona

I used the data to build my persona ‘Maya Smith’ and carried her through the project as needed.

Customer Journey Map

I created Customer Journey Map to understand what motivates Mayas - what their needs are, their hesitations and concern.

  • ''Much easier to have both map and list view.''

  • ''Too many search boxes in homepage.''

  • ''The workout page is not clear.''

  • ''I like how it helps me connected to others.''

Reflection

It was my first UX/UI project and I understood how the process is essential, it gives me a roadmap to navigate.

I understood the value of user research and planning to synthesize findings in the most helpful way to our users within our constraints.
